The wheel of redundancy has stopped...
And it was pointed at ME!

I was called in at 9am this morning and given the package. I am actually very happy (maybe it'll sink in later?) but am paid until the end of August. I have had a lot of people say very kind things about me and have already had 2 job offers, and it's not even been a full day.

Not sure what I'm doing yet, except that I have room to breathe and will get to spend a lot of time with our new little dude, Alex. Holding him in my arms the other night made me realize that a job just doesn't really matter.

It was 9.38 years with the company. Didn't even get my 10 year gift! I took it well, even made my boss cry in the end. All very emotional and unsurprisingly, I have a massive headache now so I'm gonna just crash for a bit.

In other news, my mom did not end up having surgery today and will be seeing the Chief of Surgery on Monday to discuss options. Not sure what that means exactly. But we figure it's fitting since my biopsy is at 2:30 and her appointment is at 3, we can maybe get some sort of 2-for-1 deal.

A patriotic Canadian full of visions of a better Canada, random thoughts and a lot of hot air. Who am I? A struggling writer and photographer, who looks forward to a better Canada. I read. A lot. I learn. A lot. I push myself. A lot. The world is a small place, and getting smaller every day. I'm proud to have friends in every corner of the earth, and abide by the old adage that there are no strangers, only friends we haven't met yet.
