Mama needs a new pair of shoes!
Well, I did something I try not to do often. I spent the afternoon at the casino. I absolutely love playing the slots....it's one of my few vices. I don't drink, smoke, toke or much else, so I gotta have somethin', right?

The good news? I won! I walked out the door with nearly $400 more than I walked in with. Which means next week's trip (assuming it works out) is now more or less paid for. That is, unless I end up at Coach again.

It's been a great day. Another fantastic call to start my day this morning from Todd, even if there was another alarm sounding in the background. Mortar attacks are definitely frequent.

Then a very cool little gift...a friend of his forwarding me a link to a treasure trove of pictures and video of his unit. I'd link it here, but I am still a little nervous about what I'm allowed to say and what not. Given some of the comments about Red2Alpha's blog today, I still don't know what's great and what's not. While I know my link to him was not the cause for his instalanche (I'm not THAT cool!), he's definitely getting hit from Mudville Gazette. Great timing I have...not! I hope it doesn't get too snaky for him. He's a great blogger, a good hearted person and I've been following him for many months now, so he feels almost like a friend.

Headache now...time for a nap, me thinks.

A patriotic Canadian full of visions of a better Canada, random thoughts and a lot of hot air. Who am I? A struggling writer and photographer, who looks forward to a better Canada. I read. A lot. I learn. A lot. I push myself. A lot. The world is a small place, and getting smaller every day. I'm proud to have friends in every corner of the earth, and abide by the old adage that there are no strangers, only friends we haven't met yet.
